About
Zac Priestley is a UK-based artist specialising in performance and movement. Trained at Rambert School and Tring Park School For The Performing Arts, he underwent intensive training in classical and contemporary dance. Throughout his training, he began to reflect on the societal, digital and artistic spaces he was surrounded by and how these experiences were imprinted onto his body. Priestley’s practice emphasises a somatic focus, drawing on past experiences and wounds to offer spaces of vulnerability, where the body honours and displays all that it has experienced, with hopes that others feel witnessed and held through our universal experiences of shame, longing, and inadequacy. Before his venture into creating his own work, Priestley had worked alongside a wide range of international choreographers as a freelance performer. Such choreographers include Sir Wayne McGregor CBE, Benoit Swan Pouffer, Dorotea Saykaly and Katya Bourvis. He continues to perform in external projects as well as develop his own work.
